Travelodge gets a facelift

Travelodge: New, 'more contemporary' design

A TRAVELODGE in Carmarthenshire is about to undergo a £215,000 makeover. Later in the year, St. Clears’ Travelodge will be improved with the investment.

Over a four-week period, the hotel will undergo a dramatic renovation. The investment, which part of a nationwide redesign, will completely transform the hotel with a more contemporary design. Across the UK, Travelodge hotels are benefiting from a £100m redesign project. By modernising the hotel, the budget hotel will be given a more up-market style.

The developments will hopefully bring a wider range of customers to St. Clears’ Travelodge, which is situated on Tenby Road. In 2014, the Carmarthenshire hotel had a double digit growth in customers after a large amount of business and leisure customers switched to the budget hotel.

Customers themselves have designed the new bedrooms. Designs include a king-sized bed called the Travelodge dreamer, which is usually only available in luxury hotels.
