Upgrade for Carmarthen Park

WORK began on Monday (Oct 7) to upgrade the play equipment at Carmarthen Park.

Following a public consultation carried out in 2018, the Town Council reviewed the play facilities at the Park and is to spend £100k plus on revamping them.

Councillor Jeff Thomas Mayor of Carmarthen said: “We are very pleased to be investing over £100,000 in the Park this year in replacing the play equipment. The equipment in Carmarthen Park has not been upgraded for many years; it is a very well used play area and we have listened very carefully to what people have told us during the consultation. Hopefully, people of all ages will be very pleased with the new equipment. In particular, there will be inclusive play equipment, thereby providing access to everyone who wants to enjoy the facilities.

We will also be upgrading the public toilets in Carmarthen Park over the winter months, and again these improvements will be designed to cater for the requirements raised by people during the public consultation that we did last year.

We plan to provide more and better play facilities for children and young people across the town, and this year we have decided to focus on the facilities in Carmarthen Park.”
