ARMED Police responded to allegations of a man with a firearm in Aberystwyth last night (May 27).

Dyfed-Powys Police were alerted to an incident at Terrace Road, Aberystwyth, last night where it was alleged that a male was hanging out of a window with a firearm.

Officer attended with an armed response team.

The road was closed for a short period while officers dealt with the incident.

Two males were arrested at the scene and a BB gun and a small quantity of cannabis was seized from the property.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “At around 5.30pm on Thursday, 27 May, we received reports of a male hanging out of a window overlooking Terrace Road, Aberystwyth, with a firearm in his hands.

“Officers, included an armed response team, attended and identified the property, before arresting two males.

“The road was closed while officers brought the incident to a close.

“Officers recovered a BB gun and a small quantity of cannabis from the property.

“One of the males has been released under investigation, while the second was released and will face no further action at this time.

“No-one was hurt during the incident.”
