Two arrested in Wrexham murder investigation

TWO people have been arrested in connection with a murder investigation in Wrexham.

On Monday, June 12, officers were made aware of a report that a male had collapsed on a lane adjacent to Cefn Road, Wrexham.

Emergency services attended the incident, a man was taken to hospital but sadly he later passed away.

The man has been identified as John Ithell, 59. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The two men, both from the Wrexham area remain in police custody.

The investigation is ongoing.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “At 6:42am on Monday, June 12th, we were made aware of a report that a man had collapsed on a lane adjacent to Cefn Road, Wrexham.

“Officers attended the scene, along with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service. A man was taken to hospital, where he later sadly died.

“John Ithell (59) lived on Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“Two men from the Wrexham area have been arrested on suspicion of murder and our investigations are ongoing.
