A MAN who has been charged following investigations into a serious assault in Newtown will appear in court today, Monday, June 12.
Police were called to Frankwell Street, Newtown, on Friday, June 9.
A 41-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, he remains in a critical condition.
Kenneth Jones, 20, was arrested in connection with the incident shortly after has since been charged.
Jones will appear at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court today to answer to a charge of wounding/inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm without intent and one charge of assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “Police are continuing to investigate the serious assaults which occurred in Frankwell Street, Newtown on Friday, June 9th, 2023.
“A 41-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition.
“Kenneth Jones, aged 20, who had been arrested in connection with the incident, has been charged with Wounding/Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm without intent and Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
“He will appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court on Monday, 12/06/2023.”
