Council set to host Landlord Support Event

Neath Port Talbot Council is set to host a free event for landlords who own properties within the area. This event aims to provide valuable information into available support and funding opportunities.

The Private Rented Landlord Event will take place at Neath Civic Centre on Tuesday, 19th March 2024, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Attendees will benefit from expert advice and guidance on handling issues such as damp and mould. Additionally, the event will provide information on Leasing Scheme Wales, a programme to enable landlords to lease their property to the council for guaranteed rent payments spanning between 5 and 20 years.

Speakers from the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA), Rent Smart Wales, and Neath Port Talbot Council will be present to share their expertise. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other landlords and engage directly with the guest speakers.

Cllr Alun Llewelyn, Cabinet Member for Housing & Community Safety, commented:

“The Private Rented Landlord Event is an opportunity for landlords to find out about how they can access essential information and resources that could be of real benefit to them.

“We know that private landlords play a fundamental role in the local housing sector and we are keen to work closely with them.”

The event is for established landlords who may have a portfolio of properties, newly established landlords and accidental landlords (someone who may have unexpectedly found themselves owning a home they are able to rent out).
