Neath Port Talbot Council’s Let’s Keep Talking campaign – just days left to have your say!

Neath Port Talbot Council’s Let’s Keep Talking campaign to get feedback on what matters most to people living and working in the county borough has just a few days to go.

Through the campaign, the council is asking people what matters now, what matters for the future and what could be done in their communities to improve life for residents, businesses or organisations.

The closing date for responses is midnight on Sunday, October 8th, 2023.

Council Leader Steve Hunt said:

“The current Let’s Keep Talking campaign will inform decisions over the coming months in relation to the priorities that will be included in the councils Corporate Plan and budget for 2024 and beyond.

“We really value feedback from our residents, our staff, our businesses and partners on how we work as a council, and I would encourage anyone who hasn’t yet done so to fill in the short questionnaire.

“Our resources are limited, so we can’t promise to do everything. But we can promise to listen, and to take people’s feedback into account in our planning.”

The campaign follows on from the original Let’s Talk campaign in 2021, where the feedback from almost 1,800 people influenced the Corporate Plan, ‘Recover, Reset, Renew’. Published in 2022. The plan’s well-being objectives and actions to deliver these were re-shaped based on what mattered across local communities.

Examples of how feedback from the 2021 campaign influenced actions include:

  • The number of Local Area Coordinators was increased from six to 14 after people said community relations, support and facilities for young people, support for elderly and vulnerable people and better interaction with the council was important to them.
  • A £4.2m programme of work to “Clean Up and Green Up” the county borough was approved after people said that cleaner and better maintained streets and green spaces. This has already seen the council take possession of two brand new street sweeping machines,
