Police forensics leads to 3 year sentence

KENNETH CROWLEY, aged 23, has received a three year sentence for possession with intent to supply and aggravated burglary.

Crowley, from Whitland, was arrested on March 18 for an earlier unprovoked assault on a bus driver in Carmarthen.

During his arrest a member of the public notified officers that a ringing noise could be heard coming from a near-by bin.

A mobile phone and a plastic bag containing 43 individual foil wraps, believed to contain heroin, were recovered. Crowley was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

During the investigation, fingerprints matching Crowley’s were found on two of the wraps. Examination of the mobile phone by the force’s Digital Communications and Cyber Crime Unit (DCCU) attributed it to Crowley.

Due to the overwhelming evidence Crowley pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison at Swansea Crown Court.
