Pembrokeshire man ‘overjoyed’ to receive invitation to King Charles III’s coronation ceremony

LIAM HEWITT, a British Empire Medal recipient for his work supporting young people in Pembrokeshire, is overjoyed after receiving an invitation to attend King Charles III’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Hewitt, who was surprised and humbled by the invitation, said, “It’s a tremendous honour to have been invited. I’m thrilled to be able to witness this historic occasion firsthand.” Hewitt’s contribution to the community, especially his work with young people in Pembrokeshire, has been recognised and celebrated by the community and the country, and this invitation is yet another testament to his dedication and commitment.

Liam was invited to the royal garden party last year to further recognise his hard work and commitment to the community. Then a few weeks ago an email came through inviting him to the coronation, with a formal invitation arriving through the post last weekend.

“I was really excited to get the invitation,” said Liam. “It is obviously a big historical occasion. It’s also nice to feel like the voluntary work I did was recognised. It’s a personal achievement.” He is planning to go to London with his mum, Dawn, his sister and his boyfriend James to spend a couple of days in London around the event.

The coronation ceremony, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, is steeped in tradition and pageantry. This grand and majestic event is a symbol of the nation’s rich history and heritage, and the accession of King Charles III to the throne is a significant milestone. The ceremony is expected to draw a large audience, with people from all over the UK expected to attend.

As preparations for the coronation continue, anticipation and excitement are building across the country. The coronation is not only a celebration of the new monarch’s accession but also an opportunity to unite and celebrate the country’s culture, heritage, and traditions. In the lead-up to the event, it is likely that there will be a range of festivities, parades, and concerts, allowing members of the public to participate in the celebrations.

For Hewitt and others who will attend the ceremony, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a historic moment that will be remembered for generations. As the nation looks forward to this grand and majestic event, it is clear that the spirit of unity and celebration will continue to thrive.
