HAKIN United picked up another win on Tuesday night (Apr 4) as they beat Clarbeston Road 2-0 at The Obs.
It was Clarby’s final game of the season and defeat leaves them in fourth place in the table but with other teams around still having games left to play.
The win for Hakin sees them close the gap to second placed Merlins Bridge, who they play on Thursday at The Obs, to five points.
Jay Power put Hakin ahead in the seventh minute and they held on to their lead until half time.
Clarby saw Ben John sent off to dent any hopes of a comeback but the points were not sealed until the 88th minute when Leon Luby scored Hakin’s second goal of the game.
Kilgetty closed the gap to sixth place in the night’s other game as they beat St Clears 3-1.
Lloyd Hughes put Kilgetty ahead with a penalty in the fifteenth minute before Adam Johns doubled the lead on the half hour. Richard Cope added a third shortly before half time.
Sam Nicholas pulled a goal back for the Saints eight minutes into the second half but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback as Kilgetty sealed the win.
