Goodwick maintain six-point lead after seeing off Pennar

GOODWICK United maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Division 1 table on Saturday (Mar 18) as they beat Pennar Robins 5-0.

The league leaders won the reverse fixture 7-0 and Saturday’s game was just a minute old when Rhys Jones opened the scoring.

It was 2-0 just four minutes later as the unfortunate Jake Clark put the ball into his own net.

Johnny Horgan made it 3-0 after 18 minutes and Will Haworth added a fourth with just under half an hour gone.

On the stroke of half time, Pennar were reduced to ten men when Gideon Hockin was shown a second yellow card.

It made life difficult for the Robins in the second half but they only conceded one further goal in the 73rd minute as sub Kyle O’Sullivan added Goodwick’s fifth goal of the game.
