League 2 West: Fishguard edge past Milford

FISHGUARD claimed the bragging rights in the Pembrokeshire derby on Saturday (Apr 8) as they beat Milford Haven 21-15.

The two sides had played out a 23-23 draw in the reverse fixture and another close encounter was anticipated as a good crowd gathered for the game.

On this occasion it was Fishguard who got the win, their sixth of the season to keep them in touch with the other sides above them in the table.

After the defeat, Milford remain second from bottom in the League 2 West table.

Elsewhere, Tenby United moved into the promotion places as they beat Burry Port 52-0. Cam Broadhurst scored two tries and others came from Jordan Evans, Toby Smith, Luke Waygood, Ceiron Evans and Dan Colley.

There were four conversions and two penalties from Lloyd Thomas while Harry Rossiter also added one conversion.

Nantgaredig earned a narrow 12-11 win away at Loughor and Tycroes won 22-15 away at Loughor.

Kidwelly pulled off the shock result of the day as they beat league leaders Pontarddulais 31-10.
