THE Pembrokeshire Cricket season continues this weekend as the games switch back to Saturday afternoons.
The majority of the second round of fixtures were wiped out by the rain but three matches were played to a conclusion.
All Division 1 games were called off and the only game to be played in Division 2 was at Llandigege Fawr were Llanrhian beat Carew seconds by 18 runs.
Llanrhian won the toss and batted first but they were bowled out for 181. Jon Strawbridge scored 58 and Joe Crellin scored 52 while there was also 31 from Paul Lewis.
For Carew, Ethan Hall took 3-30 and there were two wicket-hauls for Barry Evans and Corey Hall.
Tom Scourfield then scored 62 in their reply and Evans added 25 but three wickets from Strawbridge and and two from Crellin helped Llanrhian restrict their opponents to 164-9.
It gave Llanrhian their second win in a row and makes them early Division 2 leaders.
The other two games to be played were from Division 4. A 25-over game was played at Neyland where their second team was asked to bat first by Haverfordwest thirds.
Neyland seconds reached 155-7 in their innings with Stephen Murray scoring 99, unlucky to miss out on a century.
Haverfordwest were unable to reach their target though as George Evans and Kieran Arran both claimed three wickets as they dismissed their visitors for 44.
Saundersfoot seconds were asked to bat first against Fishguard and a fantastic score of 127 not out from Sam Franklin helped them post 230-3 in their innings.
Steve Cook added 63 as Fishguard were set 231 to win.
Kial Keane finished not out on 80 after scores of 43 from James Wade and 36 from Nigel Delaney but it wasn’t enough as Fishguard fell just short, finishing on 219-7.
