Printmaking workshops focusing on nature at S.t Davids hotel

PRINTMAKING workshops with a focus on Pembrokeshire’s natural wonders are being held at Twr y Felin Hotel in St Davids over the weekend of 27th and 28th April.

Hosted by printmaker and collage artist Megan Fatharly, the four-hour workshops explore mono-printing and drawing techniques inspired by the region’s organic resources.

The day begins with a guided nature walk to sketch and gather materials such as leaves and twigs, setting the stage for the hands-on printing sessions back at the hotel where you will discover how to create captivating prints using found objects.

Drawing techniques will be honed alongside mono-printing as well as a chance to delve into alternative techniques such as gel plate printing to create layered and textured pieces. At the end of the session you will have shared inspiration, gained new skills and a collection of personalised prints that capture the essence of Pembrokeshire.

Limited to a group of 10, the workshops are suitable for beginners and those wanting to further their understanding of how drawing can be combined with other processes.

Originally from Scotland, Megan Fatharly was brought up in Hertfordshire. Inspired by her surroundings and interactions, she is constantly evolving and exploring her work.

After her Art Foundation, Megan continued with a BA in drawing, where she both challenged and further built her visual language. Since graduating, she has worked as an artist and arts educator.

“Being an artist is something that is organic and ever-changing. I love this fluidity as it enables me to experiment and learn new things every day,” says Megan.

The Art of Mono Printing and Drawing in Nature printmaking workshops will take place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April with breaks for tea/coffee and Welsh cakes.

Tickets priced at £65 per person can be booked online via the hotel’s website or for more details call 01437 725 555.
