Tish ease to win over Herbie

ST ISHMAELS earned their second win of the season on Saturday (May 20) as they beat Herbrandston by eight wickets.

Tish won the toss and elected to field and that proved to be a good decision as they were able to bowl Herbie out for 94.

Lewis Rhead continued his fine early-season form with another four wickets, finishing with figures of 4-23.

He had good support from Brennan Devonald who had 2-18 and Andrew Pawlett who had 2-15. Jonathan Pawlett also had 2-10.

Charlie Malloy top scored for Herbie with 26 and Jonty Bennett added 19. There were scores of 13 from Ryan Davies and 10 from Kristian Bennett but it wasn’t enough to take Herbie into three figures.

Tish lost Karl Rhead early on in their reply when he was trapped leg before by Dean John.

Peter Bradshaw and Jonathan Pawlett then shared 72 runs for the second wicket to all but secure the win for their side.

Pawlett hit nine fours and a six in his score of 51 from 45 balls but he was caught by David Malloy off the bowling of Kristian Bennett.

Bradshaw finished unbeaten on 21 to see Tish over the line in just the sixteenth over.

On Saturday, May 27, Herbrandston visit Llangwm while St Ishmaels visit league leaders Carew.
