Tish earn narrow win over St Clears

ST ISHMAELS boosted their hopes of getting out of the bottom two of Division 1 on Saturday (Mar 4) as they beat St Clears 2-1.

Tish had won the reverse fixture earlier in the season but they did not have it all their own way on Saturday.

St Clears’ Sam Nicholas scored in the 28th minute to give his side the lead.

They were looking to hold on to that lead until half time but with two minutes to go, Kieran Rendell scored to level the game.

It looked as if the game might finish all square but with eight minutes to go Joel Morgan scored to put Tish ahead.

St Clears’ Nathan Evans was then shown a red card as their hopes of getting back into the game faded.

On Saturday, March 11, St Clears travel to Merlins Bridge while St Ishmaels visit Neyland.
