Last chance to secure parking at Haverfordwest’s Goat Street hotspot

Goat Street, Haverfordwest

Haverfordwest residents are being given the opportunity to apply for parking in one of town’s most notorious parking hotspots, thanks to the drive of county councillor Thomas Baden Tudor.

Eight new resident parking spaces are up for grabs at Goat Street, but residents are being urged to act fast to ensure that the spaces go ahead.

“Residents have contacted me to say how difficult the parking situation can sometimes be in Goat Street,” commented Cllr Tudor.

“But having contacted them in the past to discuss a resident parking scheme, there appeared to be a lack of support and the scheme did not go ahead.

“Over the passage of time, things can obviously change and residents may now have a different view on the situation, so I’m urging them to get back to me as soon as possible so we can work at improving the situation and improve the parking situation in Goat Street for the residents.”

The new scheme proposes a total of eight resident spaces which will be located in two separate blocks.

However only the one permit would be offered to each property, with the permit being specific to one vehicle. Possession of a permit will not guarantee that a parking space would always be available, as the spaces may have all been taken up by another permit holder.

The permits will cost £40 per annum, with increases linked to inflation.

Cllr Thomas Tudor is now asking Goat Street residents to submit their views on the proposal to him by 5pm on May 5, either by letter or by email which should be sent to: [email protected]
