Land identified for development

land for developmentA STRATEGICALLY important employment site owned by the Welsh Government in the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone has been brought onto the national and international property market through Knight Frank Property Consultants.

Development of the 210 acres of land at Waterston has been identified by the Enterprise Board as key for delivering the development potential of the Haven.

The site, which comprises three parcels of land on the Pembrokeshire coast between Milford Haven and the village of Waterston, adjoins the LNG tank storage facility and the SEM Logistics tank farm.

The land has a coastline with a jetty onto the waterway while inland it has a multi track rail head which connects to the national network.

Knight Frank’s Cardiff Office is inviting expressions of interests for energy related and port development projects.

Nick Bourne, Chair of the Enterprise Zone said: “I’m very pleased that this key site in the Haven is now brought to market. The site offers key strategic advantages as well as all the benefits of the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone.’

Stuart Munro of Knight Frank commented: “The property is the only remaining undeveloped site at the Haven that can offer potential for natural deep water port access. The Milford Haven area is one of the UK’s key energy hubs, offering a skilled workforce, and we are keen to attract uses that reinforce this role.”

With around 25% of the UK’s energy supplies now coming via Pembrokeshire and contributing over £2 billion a year to the Treasury, Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone is ideally positioned to build upon the region’s growing reputation as the ‘New Energy Capital’ of the UK.
