PEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL’S ‘aging’ fleet of three mobile libraries now are likely to be the latest victim of the ongoing cuts. Councillors will now start a consultation process to axe a service which they say is only used by 1% of the population.
The service has been in operation from the mid 1950’s, but cutting the service will save £100,000 a year. Cllr. Elwyn Morse, cabinet member for culture sport and leisure, said “We will now look at the availability and accessibility of alternative services including digital.”
