Johnston seal win against Pennar seconds

JOHNSTON booked a Second Division Cup quarter final tie against Merlins Bridge seconds as they beat Pennar Robins seconds 3-0 on Saturday (Feb 26).

Prior to Saturday’s game the sides had recorded 4-1 wins in their respective home matches but it was a different story this time around.

A close first half ended 1-0 to the Tigers thanks to Scott Crawford’s 25th minute goal.

Johnston could have had more but some good saves from the Robins keeper kept the score down.

Pennar remained in the game in the second half but Rhys Sture’s sending off with fifteen minutes to go made their task a little bit harder.

And with two minutes to sub Kieran Walker all but sealed their passage into the next round of the cup.

Walker then scored his second in injury time with an excellent chip as Johnston cemented their victory.

On Saturday, March 5, Pennar Robins seconds host Milford Athletic, while Johnston host Solva.
