WRU Cup round up: Fishguard win but Tenby’s game called off

THE WRU Cup competitions got underway on Saturday and there were some exciting matches across the country.

There were wins for Crymych, Haverfordwest and St Clears in their respective groups while some suffered narrow defeats.

Fishguard earned a 26-10 win over Porthcawl with two tries coming from Sion Colella and others from Robbie Jones and Ryan McVeigh. James Griffiths added three conversions.

Fishguard’s next game sees them host Tenby United in Division 2 West.

Tenby’s game with Heol Y Cyw had to be called off as the visiting side were let down by their bus company.

The other game in that group saw Resolven earn a 28-27 win away at Pontarddulais.

In Group G of the Division 3 Cup, St Davids were beaten 59-11 away at Bryncoch.

The other game in that group saw Nantymoel win 42-22 away at Tumble.

In Group O, Cardigan’s game with Llandybie was called off while Taibach won 29-17 away at Furnace United in the other game.
