Health skydive needs you!

HYWEL DDA Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board (UHB), has invited staff and public to join fundraisers at a charity skydive to raise funds for the benefit of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire patients.

The fundraisers, a group of staff and members of the public, will be taking to the sky on Saturday, April 23, to raise money which will benefit health care services across the Health Board’s three counties.

The tandem skydive will take place at Swansea Airport and will be supported by Swansea Skydive, who pride themselves on a high reputation for safety and one of the best dropzones in the UK.

Nicola Llewelyn, Fundraising Manager, commented: “We are extremely grateful for the support we receive each year and are always looking for new ways to tempt people to join in.

“We don’t replace NHS funding but use the generous donations we receive from patients, their families and our local communities to provide services and activities above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

“We work closely with Hywel Dda University Health Board to ensure that our charity allocates funding to the areas where it can make the biggest impact to the treatment and care of patients across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.”

Hywel Dda Health Charities is a registered charity existing to support patients, staff and services within Hywel Dda UHB, to make a difference to the thousands of people cared for by the University Health Board across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and beyond, each year.

The charity works with patients, their families and local communities to direct charitable donations towards supporting a wide range of services and activities for the benefit of patients.

Angela Jenkins, a Ward Clerk in Prince Philip Hospital, jumped for her 50th birthday and said: “It was the best and most memorable experience.”

If you would like to take the challenge and raise funds for any ward, service or department across the Hywel Dda University Health Board area, please contact us on 01267 239815.
