LOCAL Assembly Member Paul Davies recently hosted the annual FUW breakfast reception at the National Assembly for Wales, celebrating Welsh produce.
The annual breakfast brought together politicians and representatives of the farming and food industries to not only promote Welsh food and drink but also to discuss challenges facing the sector.
Speaking from the Senedd Mr Davies said: “It was an honour to once again host the annual farmers’ breakfast event to celebrate Welsh produce. I’ve always been extremely proud of the food and drink that Wales produces, but I’m also equally aware that the agricultural industry also faces some serious challenges. I’m delighted that so many industry representatives attended the event, as it was a great chance for Assembly Members to hear first-hand some of the challenges that Welsh farmers are currently facing.
“This reception is part of Farmhouse Breakfast Week and aims to encourage people to think about where their breakfast food comes from and support the farmers who produce it. That’s why I’m urging everyone across Pembrokeshire tocook up a farmhouse breakfast of their own and show their support for our farmers!”
