Screen Shot 2016-02-10 at 12.12.34A SEWING class that was held at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on Saturday (Jan 23) from 10.30am until 4.30pm, and was a huge success!

Four women took part in a textiles class, who spent the day making six bags made from cotton.

Organiser, Kelley Jay Fletcher from I Heart Sewing, spoke with The Herald, and said: “I’ve been sewing for 10 years, and I have been running the sewing class for a year in April.”

Kelley is currently studying at the University of Wales Trinity St David, and in her final year of her degree in fashion.

She said: “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. It’s very rewarding!”

When asked if the thinks her classes bring people together, she said: “Yes, I think it does, because when I’m running the classes, everyone gets involved to make their items and people help each other and share experiences.”

Classes are open to people of all ages, however children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
