Team Bryngolau at the Llanelli 10k and Half Marathon

A TEAM of staff from Bryngolau Ward have completed the Llanelli 10k in a bid to help raise £100,000 for new therapeutic gardens at Prince Philip Hospital.

On Sunday 25th February 2024, eight members of Team Bryngolau – Deborah Griffiths, Luke Bennett, Nicola Andrews, Guto Davies, Elisia Curtis, Amy Griffiths, Rob Hughes and Lisa Parsons – took part in the Llanelli 10k.

The team have currently raised over £600 toward the gardens and plan on taking part in more events throughout the year.

Guto Davies, Services Manager Older Adult Mental Health, has spoken about how the event went.

Guto said: “Team Bryngolau had a brilliant time at the Llanelli 10k and Half Marathon! It was great to come together as a team outside of a work setting for such a great cause.

“It’s given us the motivation to sign up to more events in the hope of raising more funds for the new therapeutic gardens. This is an Appeal that we are all very passionate about. It is going to make an incredible difference to staff, patients and their families and friends.”

Diane Henry-Thomas, Fundraising Support Officer for the Charity, said: “We had a fantastic time at the Llanelli 10k and Half Marathon. We had over 30 fundraisers supporting Hywel Dda Health Charities, including Team Bryngolau.

“It was great to see staff come together and challenge themselves in the Llanelli 10k to support the Appeal.”
