Hotel unveils new head chef

LEADING West Wales boutique hotel The Corran Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of talented Head Chef Justin Heasman.

Justin, 44, hails from Salisbury and has worked in a number of high-end hotels and restaurants since becoming a chef at the age of 21.

He is particularly well-acquainted with Welsh cuisine having lived in Wales for the past 18 years and is joined on his team by Sous Chef Alex Rees and Pastry Chef Matt Judd.

“I see Justin as the captain of our good ship steering the Corran kitchen and restaurant to great success,” said CEO Henrietta Hensher.

“Not only is Justin a brilliant chef but he mentors a fantastic team around him producing great food, most of which is sourced locally.  We are lucky to have him and it is vital such a talented and trusted chef is driving The Corran forward.”

Justin insists that his move to The Corran is an exciting move for him.

“I love it at The Corran – the place has history with such stunning surroundings,” said Justin.

“It is also a great place to be able to cook in – especially as most of the produce is sourced locally from the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire areas. As well as working with great produce it is also a pleasure to have such a enthusiastic team around me such as Alex and Matt.”

The Corran, set in the heart of the Carmarthenshire countryside lying amongst the salt marshes near Laugharne, caters for all events such as weddings, christenings, events and group bookings as well as romantic weekends.
