PENNAR Robins’ Ben Adams scored five times to help his side to their fifth win of the season on Saturday (Dec 29) as they beat Herbrandston 7-2.
The Robins started the game well and went ahead after five minutes after some good play down the wing by Jason Donohoe who crossed into the box for Ben Adams to head home.
Herbie equalised ten minutes before half time as Scott Reid ran on to a through ball and he rounded the oncoming keeper to slot the ball home.
Pennar then re-took the lead on the stroke of half time as Sam Southcott cut the ball back for Adams who bundled the ball in at the near post.
Early in the second half Southcott got himself on the scoresheet as he headed in a cross from Connor Roberts.
Adams then completed his hat trick after Southcott had been brought down in the box and he scored the penalty to make it 4-1.
Nick Willis then crossed from the right hand side and Adams swept the ball home for Pennar’s fifth.
Adams then scored a fifth in similar fashion having been again set up by Willis who then grabbed a deserved seventh.
Southcott played an excellent ball over the top for Willis who rifled the ball into the back of the net to make it 7-1.
Herbie pulled a second goal back five minutes from time as Reid saw a shot saved by Pennar keeper Stuart James before he tapped in the rebound.
On Saturday (Jan 5), Pennar will look for another win as they take on Clarbeston Road at Bush Camp.
Herbie take a break from league action as they take on Merlins Bridge at the Racecourse in their Senior Cup second round match, kick off 1:45pm.
