Ammanford seconds win but thirds beaten

AMMANFORD seconds defeated Llanelli by two wickets in a high-scoring match at the Park.

Llanelli batted first and looked well set at 182 for 5. Then Ammanford skipper Jamie Evans came on to bowl and ran through the remainder of the innings, taking 6 for 24.

Llanelli were quickly all out for 230 inside 37 overs. Skipper Lee Davies top-scored for them with 52.

Eirian Morgan (47) and Callum Croft (20) gave Ammanford a decent platform to achieve their target, and Tomos Roach bolstered the middle order with 42, but it was left to tail-enders Fin Jeffries (52) and Sam Potter (38no) to finish the job.

Ammanford passed their target with just two wickets to spare, reaching 233 for 8 inside 42 overs.

Ammanford thirds lose heavily

Ammanford thirds lost heavily by 119 runs to Bryn CC at the Rec.

Bryn scored 236 for 9 in their 40 overs, thanks to an unbeaten ton from Rajat Patra. Iwan Matthews and Jac Davies bagged a couple of wickets each.

Ammanford’s response never got off the ground. Early resistance from Jake Lewis (24) and a late flourish
from tail-enders Oliver Pallot (34) and Dafydd Evans (25no) took their score to 117 all out in 22 overs.
