AMMANFORD reached the quarter-finals of the SWCA T20 competition with a thrilling penultimate ball victory at Gorseinon.
Gorseinon batted first and made a creditable 153 for 5, thanks mainly to ex-Ammanford player Matthew Roberts who hit 56 from 34 deliveries.
He was well supported by Thomas Fowles, whose 43 came in the same number of balls.
For Ammanford, Rhys Huw Davies and Owen Davies took a couple of wickets each.
In reply, Rhodri Huw Davies (21) and Kurtis Marsh (20) gave Ammanford an excellent start with 44 off 28 balls.
This was followed by a 62 run partnership between skipper Josef Davies (37) and Craig Maloney (49no),
who hit the winning runs with just one delivery to spare.
