THERE was a big turn out to support a local Football festival at the Trostre playing fields, set outside the steel works around 700 hundred people attended.

22 teams played and the teams consisted of School children from 12 nearby schools.

Those who took part were: Maes y Morfa, Penygaer, Halfway, Brynteg, Brynsierfel, Parc y Tywyn, Ffwrnes, Pum heol, Dafen, Pen rhos, Bigyn, and Bynea.

The event is called Trostre united football festival.

Organisers would like to thank Llanelli forge, Brett’s autos, Mike Clarke printing, farm foods for donations and JML wholesale and Trostre tyres also LNI motors for raffle prizes.

A big thank you also to all the people that helped out and all the school children that participated and all school staff that took the time to support the festival.

The winners of the festival years 3/4 were Tagil Y Ffwrnes and the winners of years 5/6 were Parc Y Tywyn.
