Bwlch fall short of final

Bwlch Rangers 1
Team Swansea 6

BWLCH RANGERS’ sparkling West Wales Cup run came to an abrupt end in front of a large crowd at Garden Village, bowing out at the semi-final stage after a ruthless performance by the students of Team Swansea.

Whilst Bwlch were enjoying plenty of the ball forcing some good balls into the Swansea box after great play down the wings it was Team Swansea who looked more like scoring. The opener came on twenty five minutes, as John Roberts scored a fine individual goal worthy of winning any game on its own accord. Gliding in and out of the Bwlch defence he evaded three challenges before firing low into the far corner.

The lead never looked like being relinquished from here on in as Roberts completed a fine hat-trick to break Bwlch hearts. Although Rangers did manage a late consolation of their own, further goals by King, Allard and Winnett sent the students through.

Team Swansea will line up at the Liberty Stadium alongside either Cwmfelin Press or Ystradgynlais who meet at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli on 31st March.
