Carew keep title hopes alive after beating Narberth

CAREW kept their title hopes alive on Saturday (Jul 30) as they beat Narberth by 79 runs.

Narberth won the toss and chose to field but Carew reached a score of 201-all out.

Nick Davies top scored with 58 while Ceri Brace scored 35. Shaun Whitfield also batted well as he reached a score of 36.

Loui Davies was the pick of the bowlers for Narberth as he finished with figures of 3-21. Ben Hughes also took 2-39 for the visitors.

Narberth struggles in their reply with Rhodri Dyer scoring 19 and Jamie McCormick scored 18.

Ben Hughes finished unbeaten on 27 but he ran out of partners as Narberth were bowled out for 122.

Iori Hicks took 3-26 and Sam Harts finished with 2-5. Whitfield also picked up two wickets for Carew as they earned 20 points for their victory.

The win keeps them 13 points behind leaders Cresselly with three games left to play. Defeat for Narberth sees them slip down to fourth place.

On Saturday, August 6, Carew travel to Neyland while Narberth host Haverfordwest.
