Llangwm hit 300 in win over Saundersfoot

LLANGWM became the latest Pembrokeshire side to hit 300 runs on Saturday (Jul 30) as they beat Saundersfoot by 141 runs.

Saundersfoot won the toss and chose to field but they could not stop Llangwm making their highest total of the season.

All but two of Llangwm’s batsmen made it into double figures while only one failed to hit a boundary.

Joe Kiff hit six fours in his score of 32 before he was caught by Danny Caine off the bowling of John Mansbridge.

Steve Mills hit seven fours in his score of 32 from 17 balls but he was then caught by Scott Helmich off the bowling of Jack Franklin.

Franklin then bowled Shaun Waller as Llangwm slipped to 118-3.

Matthew Kiff hit three fours and four sixes in his score of 41 from 29 balls but he was caught by Caine off the bowling of Franklin.

Noah Davies had hit eight fours and three sixes in his score of 66 but he also caught by Caine off the bowling of Tom Mansbridge.

There were also scores of 22 from Chris Inward, 12 from Oliver Davies and Dominic Asson, while Luke Brock hit three fours and two sixes in his score of 38 from 29 balls.

It saw Llangwm reach 301 all out inside 44 overs.

In contrast, only two Saundersfoot batsmen made it into double figures as Tom Mansbridge hit 12 while John Mansbridge finished unbeaten on 112.

Mansbridge hit 11 fours and eight sixes in his knock but it wasn’t enough to see Saundersfoot to victory.

Luke Brock (3-51) and Joe Phillips (3-31) both bowled well while Noah Davies took two and Steve Mills and Chris Inward also claimed a wicket each.

That saw Saundersfoot bowled out for 162 as Llangwm earned a 20-point win.

The win sees Llangwm into third place in the table and they sit 19 points behind leaders Cresselly.

On Saturday, August 6, Llangwm travel to St Ishmaels while Saundersfoot host Lawrenny.
