Clarby earn a point against Hakin

CLARBESTON Road dented Hakin United’s title hopes on Saturday (Apr 16) as they scored late to earn a 1-1 draw.

Hakin now have two games left to play, away to Merlins Bridge on Tuesday (Apr 19) and at home against Fishguard on Thursday (Apr 21).

The Vikings needed two injury time goals to beat Clarby in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and they knew they would face another tough game.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring on Saturday with Shane Walsh finding the net just two minutes before half time as he lobbed the oncoming Clarby keeper.

Both sides made changes in the second half as they went in search of goals but it was the home side who eventually got the second goal of the game.

Steffan Williams scored for the home side ten minutes from time to level the game at 1-1.

Neither side was able to find a winner and it meant the sides would have to settle for a point.
