ST CLEARS scored an 89th minute goal to earn a point against Hakin United seconds on Saturday (Apr 16).

The point all but secures promotion back to Division 1 for the Saints who still have three games left to play.

The only team that could catch them is Milford United who sit three points behind with one game left to play, at home against the Saints on Thursday (Apr 21).

Having lost on Thursday, the Saints were looking to bounce back but they soon found themselves 2-0 down in the first half an hour after two goals from Gareth Fawcett.

The Saints then had a chance to get back into the game when they were given a penalty but Will Evans saw his spot kick saved by Adrian Devonald.

However, just four minutes later they did pull a goal back through Sam Nicholas.

Just three minutes into the second half though James Trueman scored to make it 3-1 to the home side.

The Saints did not give up and Nathan Evans pulled a goal back with just over twenty minutes to play.

Hakin looked to hold on to their lead but with a minute of normal time remaining, Kyran Lewis scored to level the game for the Saints and both sides settled for a point.
