Division 2: Lamphey and Carew seconds halted by rain

THE game between Carew seconds and Lamphey was abandoned on Saturday (June 4) as rain brought an early end to the game.

Carew won the toss and elected to field but Lamphey made a good total of 208-7 from their 45 overs.

Andy Tait scored 66 for Lamphey but was forced to retire hurt. David Dredge and Rob Mathias both made scores of 37.

Grant Cole finished not out on 23 as Lamphey were set 209 to win the game.

Ashley Smith finished with figures of 2-37 for Carew but they were unable to get going in their reply.

They reached 26-2 in their reply before the rain came and it meant no further play was possible.

On Saturday, June 11, Carew seconds host Herbrandston while Lamphey are at home against Hook.
