Young footballers enjoy Premier League tournament

PEMBROKESHIRE Schools FA Under 10s squad travelled to Carrow Road Stadium at Norwich City FC last Sunday (May 29) to play in a PLAY ON THE PITCH football tournament.

Norwich City played in the Premier League last season and some of the best players in the world have played on the pitch, so a fantastic experience was in store for the Pembrokeshire boys.

The players stayed in a hotel the night before and went to the stadium by coach, this was followed by a tour of the changing rooms and a tunnel walk out on to the pitch for their first game.

In front of hundreds of spectators, the boys played three teams from Norfolk and two teams from Essex in the group stage and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Jack Wilshere’s NCF Elite Academy of Essex prevented the Pembrokeshire boys from a place in the last four.

Amongst the goals at Carrow Road for Pembrokeshire were Logan Lewis (Pembroke Dock) Zach Loveridge (Waldo Williams) Cai Price and Osian Mills (Ysgol Caer Elen) James Burns (Lamphey) Bobby Davies (Fenton) Jaden Petrie (Prendergast) and Joe Davies (Ysgol Glannau Gwaun).

The boys were presented with Norwich medals and they will all cherish the memories of the occasion.
