NEWTOWN strengthened their grip on third place in the JD Cymru Premier table on Friday night (Nov 5) as they comfortably beat bottom side Cefn Druids 5-0.

Aaron Williams opened the scoring after just four minutes and the visitors continued to create chances.

Williams saw another shot saved by the keeper before Lifumpa Mwandwe skimmed the top of the crossbar with a header.

With just over half an hour gone the Robins doubled their lead as Nick Rushton curled a beautiful shot into the top right corner of the net.

Williams then grabbed his second goal of the game eight minutes before the break to make it 3-0 to the visitors.

In the second half the Druids looked to get themselves back in the game but the fourth goal of the contest did not come until fourteen minutes from time.

Williams completed his hat trick and six minutes later it was 5-0 as Rushton scored his second goal of the game.

On Tuesday, November 9, Newtown host Bala Town while Cefn Druids are at home to second placed Flint Town United.
