Harrison Allen Bowl: Tish go through as Rhead takes seven

ST ISHMAELS booked their place in the second round of the Harrison Allen Bowl on Tuesday night (May 10) as they comfortably beat Fishguard.

Tish ultimately proved too strong for their Division 4 opponents as they booked a second round tie away at Llangwm.

Tish won the toss and chose to field first and they were able to take wickets regularly to prevent Fishguard building any partnerships.

Brennan Devonald got the ball rolling as he claimed the wicket of Jake Booth before Rhead claimed the first of his seven wickets.

He then took two wickets in five balls in the 12th over and he continued to do the damage for the visitors.

Rhead repeated the feat in the 14th over and he went on to finish with excellent figures of 7-8.

In reply, Rhead and Peter Bradshaw almost knocked off the runs needed without losing a wicket as they shared 35 runs before the first wicket fell.

Rhead fell on a score of 17 but Bradshaw’s score of 14 not out helped Tish to victory inside 8 overs.
