A NEW Neyland Ladies team put up a brave fight with many positives but ultimately lost to Champions elect Hook who showed their all round experience and class.
Despite a good opening spell by Jasmine and Emily who picked up the first Neyland wicket courtesy of an excellent catch by Sarah Hughes, the experinced opening bats of Kate (15) and Maisey (12) built a solid platform.
Leanne (14) and Alice(14) continued to the score but a wicket for Cailtyn, aided by a catch by Gabrielle, was just reward for the Neyland Effort.
Holly also picked up a wicket but the experienced pair of Kacey (24) and Sam (24) took the final total to 378.
The Neyland top three bats of Jasmine (7), Holly (6) and Emily (8) put up some stern resistance but the Hook bowling of Kacey, Leanne, Alice and Maisey were relentless with their pace and accuracy.
Gabrielle (7) also looked good but Kacey (3 wickets) and Leanne, Alice and Maisey with one each proved to good for Neyland on the night.
A well deserved victory for Hook on the night and some great learning for the Neyland youngsters who never gave up trying and played with a smile on their faces and a great spirit.
