Last minute University stun Narberth

Team Swansea 2
Narberth 1

TEAM SWANSEA produced another fine display to book their place in the last four at the expense of a Pembrokeshire First Division outfit Narberth.

The students pressed hard in the first 20 minutes and were unlucky not to be ahead as John Roberts had a rasping shot saved and Pete Hyndman saw a beautifully executed strike the post.

They got the breakthrough in the 25th minute thanks to a powerful run and finish by the effervescent Roberts. Receiving the ball in his own half he beat three players before finding his way into the box where he curled a fine effort into the corner of the goal.

Narberth replied almost instantly with a goal of their own, but it was just a consolation as the students moved through the gears in the second half.

The visitors goalkeeper frustrated the home side for large periods with some brilliant saves and when Roberts missed a penalty, the game looked destined to go to extra time. However with just seconds remaining Dec Sheppard nodded in from a corner to give the home side a deserved victory.
