St Davids 0

Laugharne 41

LAUGHARNE picked up a thumping win over St Davids on Saturday as they ran in seven tries in a 41-0 victory.

Owain Thomas scored three tries as the Cocklemen moved back up to fifth in the table.

The visitors were quick out of the blocks as they scored in the opening minute when a clearance was charged down and Owain Thomas scored the first of his three tries.

St Davids had a spell of pressure soon after but could not convert that into points.

Luke Starkey made them pay for not taking advantage as he touched down before also adding the extra two points for a 12-0 lead.

Thomas then grabbed his second try of the game as he finished off a good passing move.

They had their bonus point try before half time as Carl Smith emerged from the scrum to cross the line before Starkey was successful with the conversion.

That gave Laugharne a 24-0 lead at half time and the Saints faced an uphill battle in the second half.

Despite the conditions, Laugharne were in good form and they added their fifth try in the second half when Mike Williams scored.

The sixth followed soon after when Lewis Owen kicked a loose ball ahead before touching the ball down with Starkey adding the extras.

It was Owain Thomas who rounded off the scoring as he touched down for his hat-trick try to make it 41-0 to the visitors.
