Narberth stay in title race after beating Town

NARBERTH remain in the Division 1 title hunt after they beat Haverfordwest on Saturday (Aug 6).

Haverfordwest won the toss and chose to field and they were able to bowl Narberth out for 222.

Richie Adams scored 39 for Narberth, Loui Davies added 40 while Kyle Quartermaine was their top scorer with a knock of 47.

Jamie McCormack also batted well for his score of 21.

Kieran O’Connor took 3-46 for Town while Archie Thomas claimed 2-21. Ashley James (2-20) and Clive Tucker (2-34) helped Town bowl their opponents out.

However, they would need 223 to win the game to help keep them in touch with the sides above them in the table.

Mikey Jones scored 26 and Ben Field added 19 for Town as they were unable to reach their target. Paul Tough added 17 and Jack Scriven added 16 but it wasn’t enough.

Lewis Hough starred for Narberth taking 5-20 while Davy Johns finished with good figures of 2-16. Loui Davies also took two wickets as Town were bowled out for 103.

Their 119-run win keeps them 20 points behind leaders Cresselly with two games still to play.

On Saturday, August 13, Narberth host Saundersfoot while Haverfordwest play Pembroke Dock.
