Narberth stun Carew to move up to sixth

NARBERTH moved up to sixth place in Division 1 on Saturday (May 28) as they beat third-placed Carew by seven wickets.

Narberth won the toss and chose to field but they saw Carew post 202-9 from their 45 overs.

Tim Hicks top scored with 65 while Simon Wood added 37 for the visitors. James Hinchliffe finished not out on 25.

Davy Johns finished with figures of 2-38 while Ben Hughes finished with 2-34.

In reply, Richie Adams scored 76 while Loui Davies added 61.

George Waters (1-48) and Sion Jenkins (1-45) each claimed a wicket for Carew but it wasn’t enough to help their side to victory.

Kyle Quartermaine scored 27 before Jordan Howell finished unbeaten on 18 to see his side home.

The win for Narberth is just their second of the season seven points off Carew.

On Saturday, June 4, Carew host Neyland while Narberth travel to Haverfordwest.
