Neyland ease to win over Tish

NEYLAND secured another win on Sunday (May 1), as they beat St Ishmaels by eight wickets in a rain-affected match.

It was one of a handful of matches played as persistent light rain saw many take the decision to call their games off.

Neyland’s pitch was deemed playable though and when they won the toss they elected to field.

Tish lost Stuart Carpenter early on when he was stumped by Sean Hannon off the bowling of his brother Patrick.

Ross Hardy then trapped Peter Bradshaw leg before to leave Tish on 23-2.

Jonathan Pawlett and Philip Cockburn then shared 36 runs for the third wicket as they looked to push their total up.

Cockburn hit two fours and a six in his score of 21 but he was caught by Ross Hardy off the bowling of Andrew Miller.

Miller then bowled Pawlett on a score of 16 and soon after Patrick Hannon had Lewis Rhead stumped by brother Sean.

Neyland lost Ashley Sutton early in their reply as he was caught by Peter Bradshaw off the bowling of Jonathan Pawlett.

Andrew Pawlett bowled Andrew Miller on a score of 10 to leave the home side on 34-2.
