DAMP, humid conditions prevailed on Saturday (Jul 16) for the 204th Aberystwyth Parkrun, but this was preferable to the torrential downpours of the previous week.
It was, overall, a very enjoyable event, with a few new faces and many of our regulars. However, Aberystwyth Parkrunners were represented all over the country – on the 16th with Caryl running the Snowdon Race, Gary and Aled supporting her (and sneaking in a cheeky Dolgellau Parkrun on the way up!), Elaine and Kim doing a triathlon in Cheshire, and Karen, Ian, Mel and Mark doing the amazing 100km Race to the Stones in Wiltshire.
Yes, that’s equivalent to 20 Parkruns! As if one wasn’t enough for us mere mortals! Congratulations to all, whether they managed 5km or 100!
The organisers of the Parkrun have also announced that their application for a defibrillator has been approved by the BHF, and it should be with them within three weeks. Many thanks to all those who contributed.
Male placings:
Owain SCHIAVONE (VM35-39) of Aberystwyth AC, was first over the line in 17:44 – fifth time in 25 appearances.
Aled SKYM (SM18-19) (Unattached) was second over the line in 19:37.
Jos JONES (VM35-39) of Swansea Harriers AC, was third over the line in 20:07.

Fay Mari WALSH (SW18-19) of Aberystwyth AC, was first ( sixth overall) over the line in 21:00 – ninth time in 22 appearances.
Anita WORTHING (VW60-64) of Aberystwyth AC, was second (20th overall) over the line in 22:29 – has been first to finish on eight previous occasions.
Angharad STARR (SW30-34) (Unattached) was third (21st overall) over the line in 23:02 – has been first to finish on five previous occasions.
