Pembroke Dock ladies seal place in Cup final

PEMBROKE DOCK ladies sealed their place in the final of the Clive Huxley Cup on Sunday (Jul 10) as they beat Haverfordwest.

Haverfordwest scored 154-5 from their 20 overs after losing both openers early on in their innings.

Katie Griffiths and Lowis Hughes got the wickets for the Dock before Lana Jones claimed the wicket of Jo Price.

Nia Williams and P. Asson batted well together though as they found the boundaries and also ran well between the wickets.

Asson scored 37 but she was then caught by Carys Lloyd off the bowling of Griffiths.

Williams made an excellent score of 60 but she was bowled by Lloyd as the Dockettes hit back, looking to keep Haverfordwest’s score down.

Awen Prysor then finished unbeaten on 16 to see her side to their total, setting the Dockettes 155 to win the game.

The Dock made a good start to their reply as Katie Griffiths and Carys Lloyd shared over 60 runs for the first wicket.

Lloyd made a good score of 33 but she was then bowled by Jo Price.

Sian James added 16 before being bowled while Rachel Sander, who was caught and bowled by Price, Louise Kitts, were both out for single figure scores.

Griffiths had remained and was unlucky not to carry her bat as she was run out on a score of 45.

Cheryl Hughes and Ellie Davies then held their nerve to see the Dockettes into the final.

The final takes place on Sunday, July 24, at Stackpole and they will take on Burton after they won the other semi-final.
