Tenby close the gap on Camrose

TENBY closed the gap to Division 3 leaders Camrose with an excellent 8-0 win over them at The Clicketts on Saturday (Feb 12).

It was the only game played in Division 3 on Saturday as rain left many pitches unplayable.

Tenby had beaten Camrose 4-0 in the reverse fixture and it took the home side just a minute to open the scoring.

Jacob Hipkiss opened the scoring and he then made it 2-0 after 13 minutes.

Five minutes later Daryl Mansbridge got his name on the scoresheet and with half an hour gone it was 4-0 as Scott Ferney got his first goal of the game.

That gave the hosts a 4-0 half time lead and Camrose knew they faced an uphill battle if they were to get something out of the game.

The fifth goal of the game came twenty minutes into the second half as Daryl set up brother Jerome to score.

Ferney then grabbed his second goal of the game nine minutes later to make it 6-0 and four minutes later it was seven as Sam Butler found the back of the net.

Jerome Mansbridge rounded off the scoring in injury time to complete an excellent win and to maintain Tenby’s 100% record in the league.

Tenby have only played thirteen games so far this season and have six games in hand on Camrose who they now sit just five points behind.
