Tish do the double over Town

ST ISHMAELS completed a league double over Haverfordwest on Saturday (Jul 9) as they earned a five wicket win.

Tish had won the reverse fixture earlier in the season after bowling them out cheaply before picking up the win.

It was a similar story on Saturday as Tish won the toss and chose to field before bowling Town out for just 92.

Mikey Jones did score 41 for Town and Dai Davies added 17 and Ben Field scored 10. Will Phillips was the only other batsmen to reach double figures with his score of 11.

Andrew Pawlett was in fine form as he finished with excellent figures of 5-12. Andrew Williams also finished with 2-29.

In reply, Peter Bradsahw scored and Brennan Devonald scored 22 while Philip Cockburn top scored with 36.

Chris Phillips took two wickets for Town, finishing with 2-15, and Archie Thomas claimed 2-34. Clive Tucker also claimed a wicket but it wasn’t enough for the home side.

Andrew Williams then finished unbeaten on 10 to see Tish over the line in the 29th over.

The win for Tish is their fifth of the season and it keeps them in sixth place in the table. Town picked up four points for their efforts but they slip into the relegation zone.

On Saturday, July 16, St Ishmaels host Narberth while Haverfordwest travel to Cresselly.
