SAUNDERSFOOT completed the double over Neyland on Saturday (Jul 9) as they earned a narrow 1-wicket win.
Saundersfoot had beaten Neyland earlier in the season but they went in to this one without a win in six games (two abandonments).
Having chased down 220 in that game, Saundersfoot again chose to field first upon winning the toss.
Neyland scored 183-9 in their innings with Ashley Sutton top scoring on 64. Sean Hannon scored 36 and Gregg Miller added 27.
Neil Powling bowled well for Saundersfoot as he took 2-20 while Jon Mandsbridge also finished with good figures of 2-34.
Tudor Hurle (2-33) and Yannik Parker (2-2) also got in on the act as they did well to restrict Neyland.
Tom Mansbridge batted well in Saundersfoot’s reply as he scored 53 and John Mansbridge added 47.
Sam Franklin also scored 24 as Saundersfoot edged to their target with with four balls to spare with just one wicket in hand.
Geraint Rees bowled well for figures of 4-38 while Jack John took 2-34.
It wasn’t enough for Neyland though and they now find themselves in third place in the table while Saundersfoot move up to seventh.
On Saturday, July 16, Neyland travel to Llangwm while Saundersfoot host Pembroke Dock.
